Love action and after something new to watch on Netflix this December? We have got you covered.

Action shows are amazing. They are exciting, and fun, and the good ones really make you think too. Netflix has no shortage of awesome action shows, but if you are seeking some new ones to watch, then look no further. Because here we have 6 new action shows of 2023 to stream on Netflix this month.

1. Criminal Code

IMDB rating 7/10

Mixing fact and fiction, this show is inspired by the true story of a massive robbery that took place in Paraguay, near the Brazilian border. When federal agents investigate the crime using DNA samples and some other unorthodox methods, they uncover a massive conspiracy involving both the Brazilian and Paraguayan mafias.

Praised by critics for its authenticity (most of the filming took place in real Brazilian bad neighborhoods), great writing and fast-paced action, the series still divided viewers for its "jagged" narrative style filled with flashbacks. Check out Criminal Code if you want something more realistic, as the events of this show are unfortunately a living reality for many Brazilians.

2. Obliterated

IMDB rating 6.4/10

Critics are split on this one, but audiences seem to love it. After an elite Special Forces team saves Las Vegas from a deadly threat, they celebrate with alcohol, drugs, sex and debauchery. And then they learn that the danger may not be quite over.

If you can imagine The Hangover movies with the main characters replaced by highly trained soldiers, you are close to what you can expect from this series.

3. Song of the Bandits

IMDB rating 7.2/10

Proving that action shows can hit you in all your feels and teach you a little something about history, while keeping you entertained, Song of the Bandits is a true standout.

Set in one of the most turbulent times in Korea's history, during the Japanese occupation of the early 20th century, it is beautifully written and so perfectly captures the raw emotions of the characters. Be prepared for tears and a gripping story, this is no mindless action.

4. Who Is Erin Carter?

IMDB rating 6.5/10

Another one the critics were not thrilled with, but that captured the hearts of the fans. A seemingly normal teacher lives in Spain with her husband and daughter. One day, when faced with a deadly situation, she acts to save her own life and shows incredible fighting skills. This clearly raises some questions about her true identity, and soon her husband and child are in danger.

This action thriller is reminiscent of the 1996 Renny Harlin film The Long Kiss Goodnight, starring Geena Davis.

5. FUBAR

IMDB rating 6.5/10

The legend himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, stars in this hilarious and action-packed series. A father and daughter both work for the CIA, but are unaware of each other's involvement. When the truth is revealed, the stage is set for thrilling action and brilliant comedy.

Arnie proves he still has it, and while this show was not the critics' favorite, if you are a fan of his, this is one you must see.

6. Sky High: The Series

IMDB rating 6.3/10

We are back in Spain again, this time focused on a young woman who has just lost her husband. To support her son, she does what anyone in her unique position would do. She becomes a crime lord and takes over her late husband’s illegal operations. Things become even more complicated when her own father turns against her.
