Bae Doona and Gong Yoo, known far beyond South Korean cinema, starred in one of the best Korean sci-fi thrillers of recent years, The Silent Sea. The setting of lunar exploration is hardly surprising anymore, but only Korean creators could turn it into a gripping thriller that mixes space horror and criticism of the political system.

The plot follows a group of astronauts who travel to a lunar research facility to retrieve important samples that could produce drinking water on Earth. Only the government is hiding the fact that the facility has been destroyed by a dangerous virus.
