This 6-part German drama is incredibly binge-worthy and a great way to spend a weekend. A severely injured woman is found in the woods with a young girl who is unharmed. With the woman in a coma, the detectives can only talk to the girl to find out what happened and what they were doing in the woods.

When it becomes clear that the case is linked to a missing child report from 13 years ago, secrets begin to unravel and the investigation becomes far darker than first thought.

2. The Law According to Lidia Poët

2023: 1 season. 6 episodes.

An Italian crime drama inspired by the true story of Lidia Poët, Italy's first female lawyer. Set in 1880s Turin, the show opens with Lidia being disbarred and told it's illegal for women to practice law. Undeterred, she takes a job at her brother's law firm and begins solving murder cases and bringing criminals to justice while preparing a legal challenge to the ruling.

The show won Italy's Nastri d'Argento (Silver Ribbon Award) for Best Crime Series of 2023.

Set in both London and Tokyo, it's gritty, gripping and received rave reviews from critics upon its release.

This French dark comedy-drama focuses on the seemingly idyllic life of Jean Bastière, who lives happily in London with his wife and two children. Not only is his brother a criminal and an alcoholic, but Jean must confront parts of his past that he thought he had left behind.

While trying to help his brother cover up a murder, Jean is drawn deeper into the criminal underworld where he comes face to face with a mob boss who has a job for him. The show features crime, corruption, and shady dealings that fly in the face of Jean's legitimate business as a crime scene cleaner.
