Cavill’s brooding Geralt of Rivia was largely thanks to his inner doubts and the sense of responsibility that came from the high-stakes games he was forced to play.

Cavill’s special “Witcher voice” largely added to the image with its deep and low timbre. Liam Hemsworth will need to both change his charming Australian accent into something similarly dark and low and develop a true understanding of Geralt’s inner demons if he wants to capture the Witcher’s nature as per Henry Cavill.

There’s nothing really flashy about being a Witcher: sure, these guys are superhumans with abilities way beyond mere mortals, but the nature of their work leaves no room for looking stylish. To become a true Witcher, the new lead star will need to get to the nastiest business not just in CGI but in real life, as well.

Even the most blatant critics of the Netflix show and Henry Cavill’s portrayal of the iconic Witcher couldn’t argue one thing: Cavill was amazing with the blade. The fighting sequences were extreme and well-choreographed, and the actor himself showed unmatched skills in wielding his weapons and chopping enemies’ heads.

Once again, Geralt of Rivia — much like his fellow Witcher — is a complex being. A monster hunter his level is way more than a talented warrior with a knack for casting fire spells; while fighting skills are essential to Witchers, the set-up to each battle is where they truly shine. Geralt knows all the monster types and their weaknesses.

Henry Cavill added to that from his own knowledge of The Witcher’s world, and his White Wolf was a brilliant investigator and scholar. Before tackling a foe, he made sure to learn all about it and prepare in advance, and Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt must follow the same path — the path of knowledge. And speaking of that…
