5 Vampire Diaries’ Worst Rated Episodes, According to IMDb
The Vampire Diaries has almost always had fairly high ratings, but that cannot be said for these five episodes.
The Vampire Diaries quickly became a hit in the 2010s, maintaining high ratings for almost the entirety of the show's existence. However, the main vampire series had its missteps that disappointed fans.
5. Bring It On, S4 E16 – 7.6
In this episode, Elena's new worldview makes everyone worried, especially Stefan and Damon, who agree that returning to normal school life is the best thing for her. Caroline is pleasantly surprised by Elena's decision to return to the cheerleaders, but her joy quickly turns to shock when Elena's behavior becomes dangerous.
The episode became the lowest rated of the fourth season – many fans did not like the abrupt transformation of the main character, who literally became a different person.
4. What Lies Beneath, S5 E20 – 7.6
This episode seemed like filler to many fans – nothing important happened in it, and the characters just talked endlessly to each other. Perhaps that was the moment when the writers had a crisis of ideas.
3. Somebody That I Used to Know, S7 E19 – 7.6
Even though Bonnie was one of the most popular characters among fans, the episode's almost exclusive focus on her proved to be too much.
Not much was happening in terms of story development either, and with the end of the season approaching and the stakes rising, it is easy to see why fans were disappointed.
2. The Night of the Comet, S1 E2 – 7.5
A possible reason for such a low rating of an episode from the first season, which has already become a classic, is that in the very first episodes the series has not yet found its feet and the style that will distinguish it from other vampire projects in the future.
If the whole series would have been the same as the first episodes, it would not have become so popular, but fortunately, the further it went, the better it got (with the exception of the last seasons).
1. We Have History Together, S8 E8 – 7.5
In this episode, Damon and Stefan, who turned off his emotions (again), start looking for new victims to replenish Cade's supply, and Sybil is still alive and trying to force Caroline to find the artifact she needs.
It is no surprise that one of the episodes of the 8th season became one of the worst rated ones. The main villain Sybil, was more of an annoyance to the fans and got too much screen time.
