These Max's sarcastic lines turn fans upside down every time.

Among everything that made Stranger Things so popular and beloved, the characters absolutely play a big role.

Max is one of the most fans' favorite characters on the show with her rebellious demeanor and sarcastic way of communicating.

Let's look back at some of the most sarcastic things Max said throughout the show.

Max laughs in the face of death

In the 7th episode of season 3 The Bite, Eleven tells the guys about the Mind Flayer's plans. Mike supposes that Mind Flayer's intention is to build some sort of army to stop El as she pissed him off by closing the gate previously on the show.

A very tense moment that gets even more disturbing as El says that Mind Flayer is going to kill all of them. Mike's and Will's faces immediately show us what they felt — confusion with a grain of fear.

But Max seems to cope with this kind of news through sarcasm and says "Yeah, well, that's nice" with a smirk that clearly hides the fear of the unknown that Max is experiencing.

Such a great performance by Sadie Sink.

Max is super excited to go trick-or-treating

During season 2, when Max was first introduced, the question was whether to accept Max into the Party. It seemed like the only ones who cared were Lucas and Dustin, as they both had romantic interest.

In the 2nd episode of season 2, Lucas and Dustin approach Max to invite her to go trick-or-treating.

Max responds in her sarcastic manner that determined their interaction for the rest of the season: "I didn't realize it was such an honor to go trick-or-treating with you."

What made the scene even funnier is that Lucas and Dustin didn't dig her sarcasm at all.

Max wants a T-shirt

In the pilot episode of season 4, as Lucas has changed his interests, Dustin and Mike have to find a new member for The Hellfire Club to play Dungeons & Dragons.

As Dustin tries to recruit Max, she asks him "If I play, do I get one of those cool T-shirts?"

Dustin, being very excited, proceeds to respond, only to realize moments after by the look on Max's face that she is being sarcastic.

Lucas is not cool?

In the 5th episode of season 4, the team goes to investigate the Creel house — Vecna's base of operations in the Upside Down.

As they split up, Lucas and Max enter a room with a piano. Lucas suggests that if they play a piano in the right combo, a secret entrance might open.

As he plays some discordant notes, Max just tells him: "You're such a dork. I thought you were, like, one of the cool kids now," sarcastically hinting at Lucas' recently obtained basketball passion.

Max thinks the show lacks originality

In season 2 Max is eager to know everything about Party's history. Finally, without even asking the rest of the Party for permission, Lucas spills all the details to Max about the Upside Down, Eleven, and Will's disappearance.

Evidently, Max doesn't believe and proceeds to say "I mean, I had a few issues. I just felt it was a little derivative in parts. I just wish it had a little more originality, is all."

That is not only a witty response to what seems to be absurd and nonsense, but it also might be a meta commentary from the creators on the show's criticism about being derivative.
