5 Times Hermione Granger Dropped the Ball and Did Something Stupid
We all know Hermione from Harry Potter as a brilliant student and an incredibly clever girl. However, even the best ones make mistakes.
Here are the five stupidest things Hermione did.
Her attempt at espionage in Borgin and Burkes
In the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the famous trio tries to find out about Draco’s secret. To do so, they go to Borgin and Burkes, where Hermione attempts to impersonate an ‘evil witch’, who is interested in what Malfoy was buying.
Her famous “Hello, horrible morning, isn't it?” was hilarious. Of course, no one believed her, and even Ron said that she was “a bit obvious…”.
Adding a cat’s hair to a Polyjuice potion

A lot of fans argue about that one. Some say that we couldn’t expect much from a 12-year-old; others say that this was a genius idea with dumb implementation. However, Hermione is well known for her pedantry.
So assuming that the random hair she picked up from a cloak would belong to a person was pretty stupid. Especially since cats' hair is much shorter and thinner than humans'.
Not believing Harry
We understand that a lot of things that happen in the Harry Potter world may seem unbelievable; however, Harry has been proven right so many times. And still, every time he says something, Hermione says he’s wrong.
“The one that bothered me was when she kept saying that the elder wand wasn't real or that the last horcrux wasn't at Hogwarts. How many times does Harry need to be right before she trusts his intuition?” says Redditor mo177.
Pissing off the centaurs
In Order of the Phoenix, to get rid of Umbridge, Hermione and Harry lured her into the Forbidden Forest. This is a brilliant idea; however, Hermione continues to anger already enraged centaurs by telling them that she had hoped that they would drive Umbridge off.
Luckily, both students were saved by Grawp, but we never understood why Hermione just didn’t stop talking.
Bringing Crookshanks closer to Ron
…even though it tried to kill Scabbers multiple times. Even though it worked out in the end, that doesn’t mean that you can just put your friend’s beloved pet in danger.
Moreover, bringing this cat into Ron’s bedroom after he thought that Crookshanks killed Scabbers is incredibly insensitive.
