5 Things So Wrong with The Winchesters That We're Glad It's Canceled, Ranked

The much-anticipated spinoff of Supernatural was canceled last month, leaving fans devastated and even shocked. Here are five reasons why the series was never going to make it.

5. We Are Sick and Tired of Alternate Realities

There's too much of the multiverse these days. Marvel made sure of that. The Winchesters could've been such a beautiful show if it had just stayed true to its prequel nature.

A simple story about Sam and Dean's parents would be enough to keep the Supernatural fandom going for a few more years, but no, they had to go and make things all jumbled up and weird. No more alternate realities for us, thank you.

4. Dad's on a Hunting Trip, and He Hasn't Been Home in a Few Days

This line sounds familiar, doesn't it? Right, we have already seen this storyline in the early seasons of Supernatural.

Did The Winchesters' writers think that they could just borrow the premise, and it would still be interesting to watch for the second time around?

Nope. Double nope because it's about Samuel Campbell in the spinoff. We don't like that bastard (and we know that he is alive well into his old age).

3. The Cameos Feel Cheap, but We Are Not Buying

While it's nice to see some familiar faces in the spinoff, their motivations don't make any sense. Loki is nowhere near that stupid.

Rowena is not that kind (why would she invite a mediocre witch into her coven and offer to teach her?). The reverse parenting dynamic between Dean, Bobby, and Jack is just laughable.

Plus, we all felt underwhelmed when Dean couldn't even tell his parents who he was.

2. Mary Literally Ran Over Chuck's Fail-Safe Creation

The Winchesters built up the Akrida as these powerful things that are almost impossible to kill – unless you have Dean's Baby from another world, that is.

We get that it was supposed to be a clever solution to the Akrida problem, yet we couldn't help but cringe throughout the entire scene.

The big bad monster is gone just like that, and then Mary is saved in an even more ridiculous way. Why didn't Dean and Sam just use Impala to kill God all along?

1. Bugs Didn't Need a Sequel

We hated Bugs, Supernatural's worst episode, back in 2005, and we were never going to like it in 2022. Why the writers thought that it was a good idea to give insectoid monsters a second chance is beyond us.

The Akrida feels underdeveloped and unmemorable – they certainly do not live up to God's last attempt to end the universe.

Too bad The Wayward Sisters never took off. Now that is the spinoff we would all like to see.
