Leslie Shay

The death of Leslie Shay, portrayed by Lauren German, was one of the most shocking and utterly heartbreaking moments of season 2, if not the entire series, and many fans are still not over it.
Her chemistry with Kelly Severide and Gabriela Dawson was one of the best things about the show, and some fans feel that after the season 2 finale, the writers failed to provide a satisfying replacement for her.

Jessica Chilton, portrayed by Dora Madison, had a rather short stay on the show, introduced in season 3 and written off in season 4, but fans feel that her departure from the series could have been handled more smoothly.
The character seemed upbeat and positive, only to change drastically in season 4 when it was revealed that Chili's sister had died, sending her into an uncontrollable spiral that resulted in her leaving the show.

Introducing a romantic storyline is nothing unusual for TV shows, but Chicago Fire's writers may have gotten carried away, as almost every character at Firehouse 51 has slept with each other at some point during the series.
Dawson & Casey
Speaking of romance, Gabriela Dawson and Matthew Casey's relationship seemed a little rushed from the start, as the two barely had any attraction to each other before suddenly starting dating in season two.
Of course, their marriage, which took place during the events of season 5, didn't last long, as they divorced the very next season and Dawson moved to Puerto Rico.

Played by Daisy Betts, Rebecca Jones made her debut in the eleventh episode of season 2, only to meet her tragic end later in the season, but that was more than enough for fans to grow to love her and wish she hadn't left the show so abruptly.
