There's a lot to choose from.

Each genre of cinema deserves its place in the industry because they serve different purposes. For example, romance movies are better for the brokenhearted people who want to believe in love again, or on the contrary, they are perfect for those who are happy in a relationship.

Sci-fi movies are mostly for open-minded people who are ready to dive deep into parallel universes and discover new things. Thrillers and horror movies are mostly for people who want to get their adrenaline pumping and develop emotions they never knew they had.

So for the fans of all things horror, here is our next list of the 5 best horror movies on Prime.

1. Get Out (2017)

Get Out is Jordan Peele's directorial debut, which has received critical acclaim and a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film is a psychological horror that revolves around Chris Washington, a young black man nervously awaiting his first dinner with his white girlfriend's parents.

And while it's awkward enough, things only get weirder as the movie continues to explore the story. The film was a huge success and even won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

2. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

This old but golden gem is definitely one of the standouts of the genre. Featuring Kevin McCarthy and Dana Wynter, the film was adapted from Jack Finney's 1954 novel. The movie is set in a California town during a mysterious alien invasion.

“Man, this film holds up well! I spotted it on Amazon Prime yesterday and decided it was time for a rewatch as I'd not seen it in about 30 years. It's genuinely terrifying with this slowly building suspense. One of those films with lots of things happening in the background that make you realize it's already too late!” Redditor fetszilla said.

3. Let the Right One In (2008)

Another 98% rated gem is this mix of genres. The movie dives deep in a coming-of-age story, but also centers on a vampire horror tale. Tomas Alfredson's film takes place in a Swedish suburb in the 1980s and follows a 12-year-old boy who is bullied at school and only dreams of taking revenge on the ones who wronged him all these years.

One day though he meets a rather strange girl and even falls in love with her. Later he finds out that she is actually a vampire.

“First watched it years ago and remember liking it. It happened on Prime this evening and it was as good as I remember. I wish more horror films were like this - light on special effects and jump scares but heavy on emotional impact and existential dread,” Redditor SchwarzestenKaffee said.

4. M3GAN (2023)

We love it when comedy mixes with horror and science fiction, and M3GAN offers a fresh take on the killer robot trope. The movie is violent and hilarious at the same time, evoking many different emotions in your heart simultaneously.

It stars Allison Williams as Gemma, a roboticist who works for a high-tech toy company and struggles to connect with her dead sister's child. Instead of using traditional methods of bonding, she introduces the girl to an AI-controlled robot called M3GAN, and the two become too close...

5. Nanny (2022)

Is it strange that horror movie debuts end up being huge successes? Nikyatu Jusu's first creation focuses on Aisha, an illegal immigrant in New York who ends up working as a nanny.

The woman hopes to earn enough money to bring her young son and cousin to America, but the story quickly turns into a tale of ghosts and the supernatural.
