Well, there may be crashes, but only the ones you rooted for to happen.

If you have an especially long flight ahead of you, why not make it a little more entertaining by watching an appropriate movie?

Here are five great movies set on a plane that will make the time fly by.

Airplane! (1980)

Let's start our list with this classic comedy starring Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty and Leslie Nielsen.

After a mid-flight emergency, traumatized ex-fighter pilot Ted Striker must find a way to land the plane with the help of a cast of colorful characters who have found themselves on board with him.

Despite being over 40 years old, the movie holds up perfectly and is full of hilarious jokes and iconic moments.

Con Air (1997)

Starring Nicolas Cage, John Cusack and John Malkovich, the movie follows a paroled former Army Ranger, Cameron Poe, who finds himself in a tricky situation when a plane transporting him and other prisoners is hijacked.

Although Cage gives a great performance, the cheesy villain Cyrus "The Virus", played by John Malkovich, completely steals the show due to how unintentionally funny he is.

Snakes on a Plane (2006)

Speaking of unintentionally funny, this horror film starring Samuel L. Jackson falls into the "so bad it's good" category.

When a crate full of poisonous snakes opens mid-flight, FBI agent Neville Flynn must save the day.

Just make sure you watch the uncut version if you want to hear the iconic "I'm fed up with..." line.

Blood Red Sky (2021)

This German horror movie takes a pretty tired concept of vampires and puts it in the unusual and isolated environment of an airplane, which works surprisingly well.

Aside from a unique concept, Blood Red Sky also features a pretty decent story and well-acted characters, providing a fresh take on the vampire horror genre.

Air Force One (1997)

Another cult classic on our list, this movie revolves around one of the most badass characters of Harrison Ford 's entire career, U.S. President James Marshall, as he fights terrorists led by Gary Oldman 's Egor Korshunov who hijack his plane.
