When it was not worth the hype.

Sometimes we start watching something just because the news around us is filled with advertisements for certain TV shows.

The Internet buzz always attracts a lot of viewers, and while sometimes these series end up being the ultimate all-time hits, some of them turn out to be huge disappointments.

It is also a common story when a show starts off perfectly well, but after a certain point it just loses its charm for the viewer. And here are 5 shows that Redditors had no choice but to give up on and move on from.

1. Parasyte: The Grey ( 2024)

Yes, it is just scandalous to start the list with the new 100% rated Netflix K-drama, but here we are, already facing viewers who thought it was not worth their time to even binge watch it having nothing else to do.

At the center of the series is a rising war between humans and the evil, with the latter being unidentified parasitic life-forms.

“It just didn’t interest me and there is no mystery or anything, the show was sorta straight forward, monsters are dumb and humans just shoot them up,” Redditor stevie855 said.

2. Pieces of Her (2022)

The 2022 thriller that didn’t last longer than a season was also dropped by many viewers. And with this series – the case was the perfect start and the oh so boring continuation. What also didn’t help is the lack of likable characters. Like there wasn’t even one…

The series revolves around a mother-daughter relationship gone wrong. It was Andy's birthday when she discovered that her mother is actually a very violent woman with a dark past. And while it sounds promising, the limited series of only 8 episodes is only bearable until episode 4.

3. The Witcher ( 2019)

What happened to The Witcher’s legacy after season 2? Nobody knows, but the ones who actually finished season 3 did that because of their love towards Henry Cavill and his attempts to follow the book.

“It's painful to watch: a lot of boring and pointless scenes, dialogues are badly written, and what is this with characters constantly congratulating each other on how amazing they are ? There is a simple rule in writing: show, don't tell, but apparently writers on the show missed that class,” Redditor neebaudiophile said.

4. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018)

Another Netflix show that went bad after a certain point in the story. For those who don't know or remember, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a remake of the acclaimed old-time story about a teenage witch.

The first season followed Sabrina as she reconciled her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while battling the evil forces that threaten her, her family, and the daylight world that humans inhabit.

And the first two seasons were absolutely beloved by viewers. But something went wrong in season 3, and the story became so boring that the series turned into a disaster with plot holes and forced scenarios.

5. Sex Education ( 2019)

The absolute hit series, this teenage sex-drama earned every heart of every adult person out there when it was just released in 2019. Over the time, we grew fond of the quirky characters and were rooting for them like they were our sisters and brothers. Until season 4 landed on the platform…

“Practically every major conflict of the season was caused by Otis being a self-centered pr*ck. The new school and the new characters were obnoxiously over the top and I couldn’t stand a single one of them. Some of the best characters from previous seasons made no appearance at all, or only came back for brief appearances during the funeral,” Redditor ChickenInASuit said.
