5 Hilarious Reactions Fans Had to Vhagar Going Rogue
Don't get us wrong: the scene was tragic. But the way fans are now treating Vhagar is just priceless.
House of the Dragon put a lot of effort into making every dragon unique and with its own personality. When it comes to Vhagar, she gained a reputation of something in between an old granny and a retired war criminal... a reputation she kind of proved in the final episode.
Titled The Black Queen, the episode concluded with a tragedy as Aemond Targaryen chased down his niece Lucerys and his small dragon Arrax. The latter ended up being torn apart by Vhagar who went rogue and out of Aemond's control.
Was House of the Dragon Too Slow or Disorientingly Fast After All?
Despite the fact that the incident is arguably the most tragic event of the first season, fans' reactions to it was out of this world. Those old dragon grannies who decided to revisit their murderous past, right?

The names fans came up with for Vhagar after the incident vary from "nasty crocodile handbag" to "demented killing machine".
"[Y]eah yeah he's just a kid but lucerys shoulda deada** reversed and noped the f**k outta there when he saw this demented turkey-necked godzilla owned by the psycho he half-blinded parked outside in that foreboding weather," Twitter user SpeedAkhtar46 joked.
While some people wonder why on Earth Lucerys even proceeded with his task after seeing Vhagar at Storm's End, others wondered what was Aemond thinking — if he was thinking at all before chasing Lucerys down.
"[W]hat the f**k did Aemond think Vhagar, who committed multiple war crimes with her original rider Visenya (aka war queen sister-wife of Aegon the Conquerer) think that old crocodile skin handbag was gonna do to Jace?" Twitter user OhMyGodDoITry said.
Every tragedy in House of the Dragon is subject to a slew of memes, and one should just make peace with it.

But seriously, what if Vhagar actually is just an old dragon who lives in her own world and actually needs help with her dementia?.. This makes it both funny and sad.
"[House of the Dragon] becomes 100 times funnier to watch if you pretend that Vhagar is so old and confused that she genuinely thinks she's still conquering Westeros with Visenya," Twitter user irIgengar joked.
This is all fun and jokes, but season 2 is definitely not going to be a joke, with the Dance of the Dragons entering its most violent phase.
The premiere date for House of the Dragon season 2 has not been scheduled yet, but the shooting is due to begin in early 2023.
