The last thing any of us expected from Ahsoka was rewriting the entire Star Wars history.

But the show still did just that in five different ways, and we listed them all.

5. The Nightsisters Have Ancient Origins

Up until now, all we really knew about the Nightsisters’ backstory came from Star Wars Legends, which claimed them to be a relatively new Force cult.

However, as Ahsoka reveals, the Nightsisters originated in a different galaxy, and their relationship with the Force is way more ancient than that of the Jedi and the Sith. They draw their powers from Peridea, which makes them even more different.

4. Peridea Is Where It All Began

Apart from being the homeworld of the Nightsisters, Peridea also turned out to be the place where the Force itself originated — or, rather, the place where the cycle of conflict between Light and Dark first began.

The tale of Peridea also started with, "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away,” which was not just an Easter egg but a clear indication that everything started on that planet a long time ago, too.

3. The Zeffo Were Once in Charge

The mysterious ancient race of the Zeffo is a subject of extensive research since there’s little to no confirmed information about it. However, everything we’ve learned from Ahsoka so far indicates that one of the Zeffo, Kujet, once ruled over the Nightsisters’ civilization! Even though he was buried on Dathomir, he came from Peridea way back in the day to rule over them.

2. Guess Where the Sith Language Came From?

The Old Tongue, also known as the Sith language, admittedly calls to the darkness within those who read or speak it, but its origins were mysterious until Ahsoka.

Now, we know that the same runes are used on the Peridean artifacts, meaning that the Zeffo-Nightsister civilization was the origin place of the Old Tongue. Potentially, the Sith uncovered those artifacts and were drawn to the Dark side.

1. The Big Fall Raises More Questions

It’s obvious that something huge and disastrous must have happened for the immensely powerful Zeffo-Nightsister civilization to fall. What’s interesting is that while the Nightsisters survived it and forgot about the Zeffo, the latter left no traces behind, so potentially, they simply left the galaxy.

Also, the big fall could be what started the cycle of conflict between Light and Dark in the first place — or at least, these two major events are likely connected.
