5 Iconic Crossovers That Never Were, but Would’ve Been Spectacular, Ranked
Some sitcom shows were seemingly created to go together — but they never did. Let’s commemorate the best sitcom crossovers that sadly never happened.
5. Friends & Frasier
Considering that both these shows actually had crossovers with other sitcoms, it’s weird that they never tried collaborating among themselves.
Friends and Frasier are the two most iconic 1990s sitcoms about trying to navigate adult life, and their characters would’ve likely gotten along really well. Just imagine the sheer number of witty puns we would’ve had per square foot if these two casts had gotten together!
4. Seinfeld & It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Even if we ignored the fact that It’s Always Sunny actually referenced Seinfeld in one of its funniest episodes, these two sitcoms were almost created to go together.
Both shows focus on terrible people who are the main characters and the consequences of their actions that always catch up to them. Perhaps, Seinfeld and Sunny characters could show each other new ways to be disgusting?
3. Bojack Horseman & Barry
Making a crossover episode between a live-action series and an animated show may seem like a tough gig, but all it would’ve required would’ve been for Barry to become animated for one episode.
Both Bojack and Barry are extremely melancholic and dark LA-set sitcoms about the treacheries of the movie industry, and their iconic absurd humor styles would’ve worked brilliantly together. Also, both Barry and Bojack could use soulmates.
2. Phineas and Ferb & Gravity Falls
Now, both these shows are animated, so the only significant task would’ve been to make their visual styles work together.
Seeing how both Gravity Falls and Phineas and Ferb revolve around immensely curious kids with oblivious guardians, it would have been a great episode if the latter family had visited the Pines’ hometown and the kids had gotten to solve some mysteries together.
1. The Office & Parks and Recreation
That’s perhaps the ultimate sitcom crossover that never happened, as The Office (the American version, of course) and Parks and Rec share one too many similarities.
From being workplace-centered mockumentaries to having very similar characters and even the same writers, these two shows would’ve worked wonders together — but despite fans asking for this crossover for years, it never came around.
