5 Hilarious Crowley Quotes That Will Make You Miss SPN All Over Again
Ahh, Crowley. Played by brilliant actor Mark Sheppard, he is one of the most fun and entertaining villains in the Supernatural series.
His penchant for flipping between straight-up villain and likeable anti-hero kept the Winchester brothers, and the audience, well and truly on their toes every time he made an appearance. He also has the distinction of being one of the most hilariously quotable characters in the entire series run.
Here are five brilliant examples that will have you craving a rewatch:
1. Season 8, Episode 9, "Taxi Driver"
"As you may recall, patience isn't one of my virtues. Well, I don't have any virtues. But if I did, I'm certain patience wouldn't be one of them."
This one is so classic Crowley. Always brutally honest about who and what he is, holding nothing back. He is a fan of words and is obviously intelligent and well-educated. And his ability to spin well-known sayings to assert more of his own persona is just sheer writing mastery. Not to mention Sheppard's delivery is just so on point with every word, the result is astounding.
2. Season 8, Episode 22, "Clip Show"
"I'm sexting you the address."
Playful and sadistic is Crowley at his finest right here. In the midst of murdering people that the Winchester brothers have previously saved, he takes a moment to call the boys and give them a heads-up. The address in question led them to another victim of Crowley's, who they had rescued in an earlier season. Even though we want to hate him, this quote gets a laugh every time.
3. Season 9, Episode 21, "King of the Damned"
"No one in the history of torture's been tortured with torture like the torture you'll be tortured with."
Over-threat much? Again, such classic Crowley. He does not take betrayal lightly, and with his self-appointed job of ruling Hell in Lucifer 's absence (after helping the Winchesters reseal Lucifer into his cage), he knows a thing or two about torture. Spoken to his team of "trusted advisors" when it is revealed they told Rowena where to find him, it is one of the most priceless SPN moments.
4. Season 6, Episode 20, "The French Mistake"
"Lucifer is a petulant child with daddy issues."
This one let the world know that Crowley had absolutely no fear of the former ruler of Hell. He is not merely posturing, either. He freely criticises the Devil himself without fear of repercussion. The comment was said to Castiel as Crowley was attempting to convince him to start a civil war in Heaven.
5. Season 9, Episode 11, "Firstborn"
"You're good… but I'm Crowley."
This is possibly the quote of Crowley quotes. This one has even made its way onto t-shirts that have become extremely popular items with fans. Said to a foolish demon who decides he wants to fight, the first half of the immortal line is uttered after taking a small beating from the martial arts trained assailant. And the second is uttered after he effortlessly kills the silly attacker with the First Blade.
