5 Heartbreaking TV and Movie Moments That Were Improvised By Actors
Mr. Stark... I don't feel so good.
Movie buffs have seen their fair share of heartbreaking moments over the past few decades.
From the tear-jerking dialogues to the chilling action scenes, Hollywood has never been short of anything when it comes to making the audience weep.
However, there are some touching moments from the big screen that stand out from the rest because they are not part of the original script, but the improvisation of the actors.
Here are the top 5 performances made up by actors that showcase their incredible talent and the power of improvisation.
1. Tom Holland in Avengers: Infinity War
Watching Tom Holland's Spider-Man die in Tony Stark's arms was one of the most difficult moments for MCU fans and Iron Man himself.
Though we didn't get much of Peter Parker's screen time in Infinity War, his character managed to give us a memorable scene that was also a complete improvisation by the actor.
All director Joe Russo gave Holland was the direction to come up with his own ideas for the scene, telling the actor that the only thing he needed to know was that Spider-Man didn't want to die.
Tom seems to nail the scene perfectly, don't you think?
2. Zendaya and Nika King in Euphoria
This is another brilliant example of when a director lets you go off the rails and make everything you want to be portrayed.
That's what the creator of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, had Zendaya and Nika King do in this fight scene in the hallway between Rue and her mother.
From the insulting lines to the threatening sharp piece of glass in Rue's hand, both actresses nailed the scene, revealing the struggles of both the drug addict and her family.
3. Joseph Quinn in Stranger Things
One of the most unexpected and devastating deaths in the entire series is that of Eddie Munson.
The idiosyncratic leader of the Hellfire Club, who at the beginning of the season may not have seemed like a positive character, became a fan favorite as the season progressed.
Getting a favorite character and then losing him in the same season is another level of pain for all series lovers.
Joseph Quinn knew what he was doing when he improvised his "I love you, man" line and made his death in Dustin's arms more intense and heartbreaking.
4. Kate Winslet in Titanic
The "This is where we first met" line that Rose Dewitt Bukater says to Jack Dawson while standing on the back of the ship as it sinks in the North Atlantic Ocean was suggested by the actress.
Along with the scene where she spits in Billy Zane's face. The queen of creating memorable moments even out of chaos.
5. Helena Bonham Carter and Emma Watson in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1
The moment where Bellatrix tortures Hermione with the Cruciatus Curse and tries to find out where Godric Gryffindor's sword is would be nothing without the effort that both actresses put into the scene.
Director David Yates confirmed that he just let the camera roll in the scene and let the actresses do whatever they wanted.
Another bonus surprise is that Helena and Emma came up with the idea for the word "mudblood" that Beatrix carves into Hermione's arm.
