1. Beyond Evil (2021)
At the center of the story is a strong desire of two fearless men to bring justice into their lives and to their small city, which has been shaken up by a serial killer. 2. Mouse (2021)
The perfect psychological K-drama that revolves around dark but meaningful themes. The series focuses on a rookie police officer named Jung Ba Reum whose life changes drastically when he comes face to face with a psychopathic serial killer. The killer has been terrorizing the nation for so long that tracking him down seemed like a great achievement, but it was so wrong to think so.
After this meeting, Ba Reum started thinking about many things. Like is it possible to scan a psychopath when he is still unborn? And what to do next if the answer is yes?
3. The Killing Vote (2023)
The twisted story of this K-drama is just amazing, giving strong Black Mirror vibes. The series follows an interesting pattern: when a dirty criminal somehow manages to avoid his law punishment, all the adult citizens receive a message asking should this person live or die? If 50% and more are for his death penalty, then the person is killed somehow by a virtual persona called “Dog Mask”.
However, the police are not crazy about all of this, and a team of three unlikely partners make it their mission to find this "Dog Mask" because they feel how dangerous all of this can soon become.
4. Strangers from Hell (2019)
Another amazing psychological thriller from South Korea is Strangers from Hell. The story follows a young man in his twenties who changes his life by moving from the countryside to Seoul when a friend offers him a job. But here comes the question: where to live? The answer is a cheap hostel called Eden Gosiwon.
As soon as he arrives there, he realizes that there is something wrong with the place, especially when he meets the residents of the hostel. He decides to save some money and move out after six months, but all the strange things start happening to him much sooner.
5. Stranger (2017)
Stranger is a murder mystery that revolves around Hwang Shi Mok, a prosecutor known for his extreme intelligence and logical abilities, who never takes bribes. But at the same time, he is also known as the one who lacks empathy and social skills and has been laughed at for it.
The thing is, when he was a boy, he had surgery to control his violent temper, and it made him that way. So one day he realizes that a chain of cold-blooded murders has started and unexpectedly teams up with Lieutenant Han Yeo Jin to find out what's going on and how to stop it.
