5 Game of Thrones Most Useless Characters We Hated More Than Joffrey
Joffrey at least had character development.
Diverse, deep, and interesting characters are one of the main advantages of Game of Thrones. These characters collide with each other, their destinies intertwine, and these intertwining creates a fascinating plot.
But even in such a high-quality show, there are several characters that can be described as completely useless and even annoying. They don't really contribute to the plot, they are uncharismatic and dull, but for some reason still get screen time.
1. Meera Reed
She and Jojen appeared out of nowhere and immediately joined Bran Stark as his assistants. Unlike her brother, Meera has no superpowers other than the valuable ability to catch and butcher a rabbit.
She obediently spent an entire season in the cave with Bran and Hodor, even advising the latter to hold the door. But it could have been anyone, even Jojen, had he not been sent back to his ancestors by the skeletons crawling out of the ground.
2. Rickon Stark
He is the only one of the Starks who has been of no use. He disappeared for an entire season as a child and then suddenly appeared as an adult. He also ruined the entire Battle of the Bastards for Jon Snow, not realizing that he had to zigzag (come on, it was obvious).
It says a lot about Rickon that we cared more about his headless direwolf than we did about him.
3. Robin Arryn
He was just an annoying freak, who he fed on his mother's breast until puberty and then hysterically destroyed Winterfell, which Sansa had built out of snow.
Then he became the Lord of the Eyrie, whom his wily stepfather Petyr Baelish tried to keep away from the actual important business. He should have been just pushed into the Moon Door.
4. Daario Naharis
Nobody cared about this character — so much that the showrunners didn't even hesitate to change the actor halfway through. Daenerys didn't care about him either, first giggling like a schoolgirl in his presence and then leaving him in Meereen at the first opportunity to take care of the pyramid.
Daario didn't seem to care about himself either, because he didn't even put up much of a fight to stay with Dany.
5. Grey Worm
Has everyone noticed that Grey Worm has an underdeveloped personality due to his militaristic upbringing? Don't worry, we're reminded of it every five seconds in all the scenes where he's present.
The leader of the Unsullied awkwardly starts a romance with Missandei, tries to speak a common language, and even drinks wine, but the rest of the time he just stands there looking into the distance.
