5 Friends Characters You Know Everything About But Have Never Seen On Screen

Friends is one the most popular sitcoms, and there are many obvious reasons for that.

The main characters of the show, NY-based friends Ross, Chandler, Monica, Rachel, Joey, and Phoebe have very fulfilling lives that just keep growing on you as you watch them maintaining their daily routines and finding new ways to have fun.

Of course, except for the main cast, there were many other recurring characters, as well one-episode guest stars. But there were also several intriguing characters that were never actually shown on the screen but still felt like a huge part of the story. These ones, for instance.

Kip

Kip is Chandler's ex-roommate who used to live with him in the same apartment as he and Joey in the show. We first heard about him in the episode The Dozen Lasagnas, when Chandler tells Joey that Kip ran off and got married.

The other story involving Kip was much later, when all the Ross and Emily drama was going on. Remember when Emily asked Ross to stop seeing Rachel to save their marriage?

Well, Rachel remembered that Kip and Monica used to date, but when they broke up, he didn't stay in touch with the gang, and Rachel was worried that she would be phased out like him.

Gandalf

Gandalf was the nickname of Ross and Chandler's friend who was famous for his hardcore partying skills. In the episode The One Where They're Going To Party, the guys are very excited about the fact that he is coming to town, and that would mean that they are about to have a great time together.

Ross and Chandler reminisce about the crazy night they spent with him, while it's obvious that Joey is jealous. So when Gandalf bails, they decide to party just the three of them, only to realize that they're too old for that stuff now.

Denise

Denise is supposedly Phoebe's ex-roommate that no one seems to know anything about, and every time Phoebe talks about her, the whole gang feels suspicious. Fans are disappointed that the Denise gag didn't start earlier, as it would have introduced a hilarious storyline.

“A running gag would have been great. Like if they started the Denise joke early in the seasons, and made her really suspiciously not-real, so we were like 99% sure she didn't exist. Only to show up at Phoebe and Mike's wedding as a total surprise,” Redditor AznNRed said.

Greg and Jenny

Greg and Jenny are the couple that Monica and Chandler met on their honeymoon. When they came back, all they could talk about was these two people.

Right after their arrival, Monica tried to call them to see if they wanted to meet up, but then she realized that they had given her a fake number.

But it wouldn't be our little Harmonica if she didn't find the real number and call them to confront. And an awkward scene where they meet unexpectedly like in Central Perk would be fun to watch.
