The Harry Potter movies are full of subtle hints and clues about the future or past of certain characters. You just have to know where to look!

The second installment (and the last one to feel truly magical) is no exception. Here are five Easter eggs you might have overlooked in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

5. The Infamous Necklace

Remember the necklace that Katie Bell is instructed to deliver to Dumbledore in the sixth film? It actually appears first in the second movie when Harry has a hiccup with a magical means of transport and finds himself in Knockturn Alley instead of Diagon Alley. He ends up going to Borgin & Burkes, and the necklace is just lying around right there.

4. Tom Riddle

At the beginning of the movie, Tom Riddle has yet to announce himself. However, his appearance is foreshadowed in the scene where Hermione hits the library to look for the Polyjuice Potion recipe. She eventually grabs the book she needs, but next to it is a clue about Riddle: there is a volume with the word “Tom” right there!

3. Ron’s Robes

The Weasleys have been established as a poor family from the beginning, and they are struggling more than ever in the second film. That is even shown by the condition of Ron’s Hogwarts robes – they are much shabbier and grayer than the other students’ robes since they are supposed to be hand-me-downs.

2. The Weasleys’ Clock

The Weasleys have lots of peculiar magical household objects that make us all jealous, but their family clock is on another level. The clock arms are actually made from scissor handles, and the twins share one clock arm because they are basically always together (in reality and in Molly’s mind). Now think about how hard it is to look at that clock after Fred’s death…

1. The Post-Credits Surprise

The second movie is the only one in the franchise to feature a post-credits scene. It gives us a glimpse of Gilderoy Lockhart’s life after that disastrous Memory Charm – apparently, he manages to publish a book about his struggles even in that condition!

Did you know about any of these? Honestly, we were pretty shocked to find out about that post-credits scene ourselves!
