5 Classic Movies That Got Completely Destroyed On Rotten Tomatoes
This calls for a movie night!
There are a lot of movies that we call classics. Some of them you just grew up watching because your family adored them and pushed them on you at every gathering.
Others are simply so good they're running them every holiday season on TV over and over again.
Although the absolute majority of them were quite successful during their time at theaters and did receive positive critics reviews, sometimes there is a slight thought: are they really this good, or do we just feel nostalgic about them?
Well, Rotten Tomatoes can provide you with quite an insight into the perception of the films you thought were undoubtedly staples in the industry.
All the movies in this list have a rating of 10% or under, and some reviews that would make anyone question their sanity.
Jack and Jill (2011) – 3%
It probably wouldn't be a complete list without at least one of Adam Sandler 's comedies in it. Yes, it is quite silly and highly inappropriate at times, but is it really as monstrous as its Rotten Tomatoes rating suggests?
Feels like the reviews on this one are a lot worse than it truly deserves.
Problem Child (1990) – 0%
It's hard to guess why the rating for this movie is so low, especially considering the fact that the creators went further and released a sequel just a year later (and another one, in 1995).
Perhaps, there is a place for only one sadistic child in the hearts of the audience, and it's already taken by Christmas classic Home Alone.
Staying Alive (1983) – 0%
Yet another movie that couldn't even get to 1%. After the flying success of the first movie, Saturday Night Fever, which has an 83% rating, you would expect the sequel to be at least half as good.
However, prepare to be disappointed, because this is the case of a film that should've never been made.
The Cat in the Hat (2003) – 10%
Judging by this rating, you can consider this movie a success, however, critics would not agree. Perhaps, they missed out on the key audience, blaming the film for shallowness and potty humor.
There are many kids both young and old enough to enjoy the comedy without thinking too much about it.
Top Dog (1995) – 0%
If you know who Chuck Norris is, you probably heard of Top Dog.
Although people seem to enjoy anything and everything with a dog in it, the cuteness of Reno did not save this film from a rotten rating.
