5 Charmed Reboot Ideas That Would Easily Top What We Got, Ranked
The Charmed reboot we got is not the Charmed reboot we deserved and/or wanted.
Charmed, the reboot of the original 1998’s series, premiered in 2018 and lasted for four excruciating years before finally getting off our screens and out of our lives. Fans didn’t like it, the original cast and crew were less than happy about it, and we were all better off without it.
When the original show ended in 2006, rumors of a possible reboot began to circulate and never really stopped. Here are five ideas that would’ve worked better as a Charmed reboot.
5. Billie Comes into Her Own
Even though season 8 is the most hated one by the fans, and Billie is pretty annoying all throughout, seeing her go off on solo magical adventures would still be more intriguing than watching the same old story unfold.
Actually, a spinoff following Billie called Mermaid was in development in the late 2000s, but it never saw the light of day – perhaps due to the fact that Kaley Cuoco landed her TBBT gig in 2007.
4. Pre-Piper Leo Saves Witches
The Whitelighters get plenty of screen time on Charmed, but it would have been great to see what Leo was up to before he started serving the Charmed Ones. We could’ve gotten a glimpse of his path from human to Whitelighter.
This prequel could’ve been darker than the original show – after all, Leo has lost a lot of charges, and that must have taken a toll on him.
3. Demons Go Rogue in the Underworld
Demon politics are fascinating to watch, and there have been a few coups here and there in the Underworld. This potential spinoff could’ve shown us what goes on down under with the lower-level demons while the big players deal with the Charmed Ones. Think Dynasty, but with a dash of Lucifer in it.
2. Patty and Penny Save the World
Charmed but set in the 1970s? Yes, please! That time-travel episode wasn’t enough for us, and we want more of Patty and Penny and their witchy lives before the Charmed Ones even existed.
This would be the perfect prequel – we know the characters, we love them, and Finola Hughes and Jennifer Rhodes could come back for a few cameo appearances in the flashforwards!
1. The New Generation Takes Over
Chris and Wyatt are two beloved characters, and their adventures would be epic (especially, after the future is saved, and Wyatt is no longer evil).
Plus, this sequel could continue Charmed’s legacy without pretending that the original show never existed (and the Halliwell sisters could be around as recurring characters).
So much potential has been wasted… Hopefully, that’s not the end of Charmed!
