Bridgerton season 3 does not have a release date yet, but that’s not stopping fans from coming up with the most brilliant theories about what’s to come.

Here are five things that could happen in Bridgerton ’s upcoming season.

5. Queen Charlotte’s Death

Bridgerton season 2 takes place in 1814, and real-life Queen Charlotte died in 1818. If season 3 follows the Julia Quinn books’ timeline, season 3 will span over a decade, ending in 1824. Of course, Charlotte is not a book character, and the series has strayed far from the canon before, so there’s hope that this devastating theory won’t come to fruition.

4. Penelope to the Rescue

The Featheringtons have been struggling financially for some time now, and since Cousin Jack and Lady Featherington’s ruse to raise some cash hasn’t worked out, the family is still in need of assistance. Some fans believe that Penelope will be the one to help her mother and sister with her Lady Whistledown earnings, and that seems quite likely.

3. Benedict’s Sexuality

The Bridgerton writers have hinted at Benedict’s possibly undetermined sexuality before with that Henry Granville storyline, and some fans are convinced that this is the main reason why his season is postponed. Maybe the show wants to explore Benedict’s sexuality a bit more before he inevitably winds up with Sophie?

2. Eloise and Penelope’s Falling-Out

These two besties have gone their separate ways in season 2, and it seems that the tension is only going to worsen in the upcoming season. Fans have noticed that Claudia Jessie’s Eloise is nowhere to be seen in the behind-the-scenes photos of Colin and Penelope’s wedding (or what looks like it), and it’s alarming.

1. Season 3 Will Be Released Gradually

There’s a rumor that Netflix wants to try out a new (old) model of releasing their shows gradually instead of all episodes at once. Many viewers feel that Bridgerton season 3 might easily become the first project to premiere in this way. Just imagine how much we will suffer between the episodes if there’s a cliffhanger…

Do you think any of these theories will turn out to be true?
