Afraid the show you're watching will get canceled? Watch only finished ones.

Strange as it may seem, Netflix is far from the champion of cancellations. Apple TV+ leads the pack by a wide margin.

If you want to get the most out of your subscription, but don't want to waste time on shows that may meet an untimely end, these five finished shows are for you.

1. Physical, 2021-2023

Southern California, 1980s. Struggling housewife Sheila Rubin battles her inner demons every day until she finds an unexpected salvation in aerobics. Sheila's new hobby and the growing popularity of videotape recording technology allow the woman to start her own business.

The creator, writer and executive producer of the project is Annie Weisman, known for her work on Desperate Housewives, and the lead role is played by Rose Byrne, best known to many for the Insidious franchise.

In the third and final season, Sheila will have to face a competitor named Kelly, played by Zooey Deschanel. Kelly is a sitcom star who decides to change careers and suddenly finds herself at the top of the fitness industry.

2. Dickinson, 2019-2021

Emily Dickinson is a classic of American literature, a cult poet whose works have been memorized by tired teenagers for years. The AppleTV+ comedy series tells the story of her youth in a somewhat unusual light.

It would be hard to make a very exciting movie about the real life of Emily Dickinson. The main complaint of biographers is that very little is known about the poetess, and what is known is very boring. However, the show's creators have managed to adapt Emily's story so that you won't be following in the footsteps of the biographers – the show is anything but boring.

3. The Essex Serpent, 2022

The show is set in 19th century England. After the death of her husband, Cora decides to change her life and take up her favorite hobby – paleontology. Together with her son Frankie, she leaves London for the village in Essex. The locals gossip about a mythical monster that has appeared in the nearby river – the Essex Serpent. Cora rationally believes that the water creature could be a dinosaur, thought to be extinct.

The Essex Serpent is a stunningly beautiful show, with luxurious underwater shots and magical rituals, dark landscapes and gothic interiors (and Tom Hiddleston ). All this splendor will make even the most hardened couch potato want to rush to Essex and unravel the mystery of the serpent.

4. Lisey's Story, 2021

Lisey's Story is based on the novel by Stephen King, which the author himself called his favorite. This is not surprising: a significant part of the story is dedicated to a popular writer who has been haunted by otherworldly horrors all his life.

After the death of the incredibly successful writer Scott Landon, his wife Lisey inherited a multi-million dollar fortune and a room full of manuscripts. Left alone, she tries to care for her mentally ill sister, Amanda, and build a warm relationship with her other sister, Darla. But what worries her most is the mystery her husband left behind.

5. Servant, 2019-2023

A small family lives in an elite Philadelphia neighborhood – the husband is a culinary consultant, the wife is a reporter for a TV network. An eighteen-year-old nanny is brought in from Wisconsin to take care of their newly born child. Without a doubt, something is going to go wrong.

Plot twists and unexpected plot turns are one of the main techniques of M. Night Shyamalan, director and producer of Servant. Here they will be in literally every episode, and only those who cannot stand intrigue and suspense can get bored.
