All hail the period drama!

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story has topped the service's weekly charts following its release on Netflix. The plot centers on the relationship between King George III and Charlotte, who is to become his wife.

The series has only six episodes, which means that for many the series ended too quickly. Here is a list of shows to watch if Queen Charlotte was too short for you.

The Borgias

Historical drama by Neil Jordan, starring Jeremy Irons, François Arnaud and Holliday Grainger.

Nobody likes the Borgia family, but that does not stop the father of the family Rodrigo from seizing the Holy See through a series of bribes and political intrigues.

Clearly, life in Rome is about to change beyond recognition. The series was warmly received by critics and earned the love of viewers throughout three seasons. The series also received a prestigious Golden Globe nomination.

The Tudors

Drama from Michael Hirst, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Natalie Dormer, Henry Cavill and others. The story takes place in 1518, when the young King Henry VIII is seriously concerned about the lack of heirs.

The children of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon have died, with the exception of Princess Mary. Determined to have a son, Henry leaves his wife and chooses the beautiful Anne Boleyn as his wife.

The White Queen

Drama by Philippa Gregory, starring Rebecca Ferguson. In the year 1464, the War of the Roses has been going on for nine years. Yorks and Lancasters alike want the throne and are willing to do anything to make it happen soon.

Elizabeth Woodville, a Lancastrian supporter, is trying to become Edward of York's mistress so that he will be a patron to her children.

The White Princess

The logical sequel to The White Queen. Elizabeth married King Henry VII, heir to the Lancaster throne, and the country was at peace. It looks like the War of the Roses is over.

However, Elizabeth's life didn't get any easier. Her new husband is full of mistrust and self-doubt, and her mother-in-law cannot stand the new queen, so there are constant conflicts in the family.
