4 Magically Perfect Harry Potter Moments That Don’t Get Enough Credit From Fans
You need to rethink these overlooked HP scenes.
Even though the Harry Potter fever is going to be with us for a long time, and it’s supported by the upcoming HBO series, there are some moments that aren’t talked about enough. While discussing the most iconic scenes of the wizards’ saga, the fandom forgets the ones which also reveal the characters’ nature and their relationships.
Here are 4 of the most neglected scenes of the whole HP franchise.
-
The Sorcerer's Stone - The Troll
The first installment of the movie series is quick to show us that the notorious school of Witchcraft and Wizardry is not the safest place on Earth. Then it shows the first scary creature threatening the characters - a nasty troll entering the girls' bathroom, where Hermione ends up. It is this very fight against the monster that binds the franchise’s trio and marks the beginning of their adventures in the world of magic.
-
The Prisoner of Azkaban - Sirius' Farewell Words
Although the third chapter is considered the favorite by the majority of Harry Potter fans who know its lines by heart, there is an underrated scene adding to Harry’s chemistry with his godfather Sirius. Just before the latter flies away to freedom, he delivers a speech about Harry’s parents and how they still live on through the hearts of their close ones, and it’s really touching, largely due to Gary Oldman ’s impeccable performance.
-
The Order of the Phoenix - “Nice One, James”
Here comes another Sirius Black moment, and this time it’s the one that comes right before his tragic death in the Ministry battle. While the wizard and his grandson are fighting against Death Eaters side by side, Harry disarms Lucius Malfoy and Sirius praises him calling him James, the name of his father. This heartbreaking moment shows that Sirius still misses his old friend and finds him alive in his son.
-
The Half-Blood Prince - Aragog's Funeral
There is so much going on in this overlooked scene. Despite being under the effects of Felix Felicis potion, it was pretty decent of Harry to attend the funeral of a creature that tried to feed him and Ron 4 years ago, during the events of The Chamber of the Secrets. He still supports Hagrid when he loses Aragog, one of his former pets, and so does Horace Slughorn, Hogwarts’ Potions teacher, who is there to help a fellow colleague.
