4 Incredible Better Call Saul Details Only True Fans Noticed
The series is full of unpredictable twists and well-developed characters.
The writers' incredible attention to detail helps move the plot along, but it is not always possible for viewers to find or interpret the little references that the show's creators hide in different scenes.
1. Cocobolo Desk
One such moment, for example, is the sequence where Jimmy insistently asks for a cocobolo desk when he takes a job at Davis & Main. McGill is not even sure that such material exists, but in this way the writers demonstrate the character of Saul, who does not want to become part of the system.
2. Davis & Main Office
The same great moment lurks in those same Davis & Main scenes when Jimmy is introduced to his new office. There's a switch in the room that the secretary tells him not to push, even though he doesn't know what it does. Throughout the episode, Saul tries to resist the temptation, but then he pushes the button and... nothing happens.
Such little details are incredibly accurate in describing the cunning schemer that is Saul Goodman, who is comfortable working for himself and by his own methods, sometimes playing fast and loose with the law.
3. World's 2nd Best Lawyer Travel Mug
Fans also notice such a hidden detail in the eighth episode of season five, titled Bagman, as Jimmy goes to collect the ransom money for Lalo from the Salamanca brothers, but there is an ambush. Only Mike, sent to follow Saul at Gus's behest, saves the negligent lawyer.
The two protagonists are stranded in the middle of the desert and must make their way home without food or water. Throughout the journey, Jimmy carries the "World's 2nd Best Lawyer" travel mug that Kim gave him.
When Saul and Mike finally reach the gas station, McGill discovers that the mug has a bullet hole in it. This sad moment proves once again that Kim and Jimmy's bond has finally lost its innocence. The lawyer undoubtedly breaks up, but he holds on to the mug, accepting who he has become and what he now means to his wife.
4. Cinnabon Care
Other fans also love the point that even after Saul's empire collapses, Jimmy doesn't stop caring about what he's doing. For example, when he works at the Cinnabon under the name Gene, and he calls from prison to make sure the store is still running the way it is.
It is a small thing that proves: not everything is lost for McGill, and he transforms from the ruthless Saul Goodman back to the Jimmy he once was.
