No, it’s not the one with Rachel as a cheerleader.

Summary:

  • Friends is a legendary sitcom, but even the iconic series has its bad episodes.
  • There are several episodes that are widely hated, but only one that makes absolutely no sense.
  • Barry is one of the most hated characters of all, and episodes with him rank low.

When talking about timeless sitcoms, there’s no other choice other than to name Friends the most popular one. The show about six best friends maintaining their everyday lives in New York became a litmus paper for any other show with similar premise.

As you all know, at the center of the series are Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, and Joey. All of them are really quirky and have their own weird personality traits. However, they work perfectly as a group and are almost always in sync even if we are talking about some really ridiculous stuff.

Well, honestly, the stories that lie in every episode are quite crazy almost always, but they all still mostly benefit the plot rather than change it for the worse. However, apparently there are episodes that the fans still hate, despite the overall love towards the show.

Not that there are many of them, but we know for sure that the one with fake Monica and the one with Rachel in a cheerleader costume are considered awful and the most skippable episodes. But there is one that can't be topped…

As you may remember, Barry is Rachel’s ex-fiance, the one whom she left at the altar. The potato-headed orthodontist seemed to be disgusting from the start and Rachel never seemed to be questioning if she did the right thing leaving him at the altar.

But in episode 20 of the first season called The One With The Evil Orthodontist the writers had her dating him again and even reminisce about their past. Well, that seemed extremely out of character as Rachel never showed any interest in Barry before. Not to mention the fact that she actually seemed to enjoy the lovemaking process…

What makes it all icky is also the fact Barry is being unfaithful to Mindy, Rachel’s former best friend he was dating at the time of the affair. There was something very unpleasant about Barry even at that point in the show, before the infamous wedding where Rachel’s pink dress performance took place.

If you feel like you need a reminder of how terrible Barry was, it’s time to binge Friends again on MAX.
