3 Villains Who Could Steal the Show from Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four
Who's got what it takes to give the Fantastic Four a real challenge?
One of the most anticipated Marvel movies is undoubtedly Fantastic Four. It's the second time they're giving this superhero team a fresh start on the big screen, but this time it's happening in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thanks to Disney acquiring 20th Century Fox.
The Fantastic Four movie cast still remains the biggest mystery surrounding this project. And so does the antagonist of the film which is currently unknown.
While the most obvious choice is Dr. Doom (and many fans are dying to finally see him in the MCU ), the problem is that again, it's too predictable. Doom has already been the antagonist in the original Fantastic Four (2005) and the 2015’s reboot.
We need someone fresh and unexpected to keep things interesting. But if not Dr. Doom, who else might take on the role of the antagonist?
Molecule Man
Owen Reese aka Molecule Man is one of the most powerful beings in the entire Marvel Universe. He can manipulate the fundamental building blocks of creation. The only thing he can't mess with is organic matter.
Reese has tried to turn over a new leaf a few times, but his unstable mental state always pulls him back into his life of crime.
Red Ghost
You might be thinking, "A Russian scientist who uses super smart apes to do his dirty work? That doesn't sound very intimidating." But here's the thing: Red Ghost got his powers the same way the Fantastic Four did — from cosmic rays.
This makes him a sort of evil mirror image of our heroes, even though their powers aren't the same. He's a lot smarter than he looks, and he's a villain who might be just perfect for the first Fantastic Four movie.
Rama-Tut
Rama-Tut is Kang’s variant. In the comics, he used his advanced technology to enslave and conquer Egypt, and he even tried to groom the mutant Apocalypse to be his heir.
Rama-Tut has already appeared in the MCU, in the post-credit scene of Quantumania. He would be a great villain for the Fantastic Four movie, or even better for Moon Knight season 2.
But, making Kang (his variants) the villain in every single film/series might get boring real quick. Moreover, it is currently unclear if Jonathan Majors will return to the role of Kang the Conqueror due to his ongoing legal issues.
