Will it be the rare case of a sequel being better than the original?

Wednesday is the kind of show that made the world go round when it premiered on Netflix.

It was a huge success that seemed like the one that could never be beaten. But it looks like the show's season 2 is going to set the mark even higher on the ladder of success.

And there are several reasons why we think this will happen.

3. Jenna Ortega at the stirring wheel

Recently, the actress said she was making changes to her character in season 1, often rewriting the lines when she felt they didn't fit into the personality of the character.

And now that she received a place in the creative team, she can have an even bigger impact not only on her character, but the show as a whole.

Fans believe that this will have a great influence on Wednesday Addams, as it gives Ortega the chance to also be one of the minds behind the series.

She will not have to fight with the team every time she is about to change a dialogue or a specific scene.

The actress now is going to have a massive impact on Wednesday season 2, and also will be adding her signature style.

2. Horror-centric season

A further upgrade for the new season is that it's going to be much darker than before. Ortega herself has already confirmed that the upcoming season will lean into its horror aspect much more than the previous season did.

The thing is that even the slightest horror-centric moments in the first season were really well received by the audience. So why not give them more?

Yes, we had piranhas in a school swimming pool in the pilot, but the potential of the show is so much greater. As it was already mentioned, the writers have agreed to the idea of making the show more terrifying.

So now all we can do is wait and see what dark scenes they have in store for us.

1. No love triangles

Well, it seems like every true fan had already spoken about the most hated thing in season 1 — the love triangle. Jenna herself wasn't a fan of that particular storyline either, but she couldn't change it.

But she promised to do it now, as an exec.

Season 2 will seemingly accept that Wednesday is not a romantic person. She is totally self-centered and addicted to achieving her own goals.

And in Wednesday season 2, she has the perfect opportunity to start fresh, with Tyler gone and Xavier friend-zoned (if someone like Tyler even fits into the friend zone, and not the enemy zone).

But there is one relationship that neither the fans nor the cast will ignore. It's the famous Wenclair duo of Wednesday and her roommate Enid.

Even though these two are total opposites, they have formed a true friendship and the fans are happy to see it blossom in the new season.
