3 Movie Power Couples That Fell in Love in Real Life
Rom-coms or action thrillers, movies can get too real for actors. Love is in the air, the chemistry is off the charts… Anything can happen, right?
It is not uncommon for actors to get together after filming a movie, but some couples have had us on the edge of our seats in a "will they, won't they" rhetoric.
Here are three of the hottest movie couples who fell in love after starring opposite each other.
Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams
2004's The Notebook made us feel things we hadn't felt before. Apparently, it did the same for the movie's main couple.
Allie and Noah probably had so much chemistry because the actors hated each other during filming! Love must be just a step away from hate, huh?
Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling reportedly reconciled their differences and even started dating in 2005, after the movie had already come out.
Their relationship only lasted two years before they called it quits in 2007, but what two years they were!
They were the power couple of the early 2000s, and their kiss at the 2005's MTV Movie Awards will forever be an iconic moment.
In an interview for Yahoo Movies, Rachel said that she wouldn't mind working with Ryan again if the opportunity arose. Wouldn't it be great to see them on screen together again?
Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie
The two lovebirds met on the set of the 2005 action comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Two divorces later, Jolie was a single mom at the time, and Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston ( Angelina was even accused of causing their divorce, but she denied the claims). They got off to a rough start!
Just like that, Brangelina became the most glamorous Hollywood couple for the next 12 years, even though they didn't officially marry until 2014.
Two years and six kids later, they filed for divorce. In 2019, they were legally single. Boy, was that whole process messy!
On the brink of divorce, Brangelina appeared together as a married couple in 2015's By the Sea. The movie was actually about an estranged couple who reconciled at the end. Ironic.
Maybe marriage isn't the answer? Brangelina were happy together for nine years before they tied the knot. Makes you really think, doesn't it?
Javier Bardem & Penélope Cruz
Unlike the first two, this couple stuck. Javier and Penélope met while filming 1992's Jamón, Jamón, and then reunited in 2008's Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
The second movie, apparently, made them realize that they were destined for each other. Took them long enough!
Cruz and Bardem began dating in 2007, and they secretly married three years later, in 2010. They also have two kids together!
16 years into the relationship, this couple is still going strong. Perhaps, the secret to a happy Hollywood marriage lies in spicing it up on screen.
Penélope and Javier also starred together in 2013's The Counselor and 2018's Everybody Knows.
Whatever it might be, we are happy to see these two keep on proving that love does exist in this competitive industry!
