The 2023 Oscars have been a rollercoaster – as always, so just roll with it, will you?

The 95th Academy Awards, however, will go down in history as one with the most emotional speeches ever. Well, that is so much better than what last year's Oscars will be known for forever…

Why did we get so sentimental this year? 2023 was the year of representation, which made the wins so much more impactful on the industry, resulting in everyone joyfully tearing up.

Let's take a look at some of the most heart-wrenching moments from the ceremony.

Ke Huy Quan

The 51-year-old actor won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Everything Everywhere All At Once, and he is truly the reason why representation matters and why wins like this are more than just an award.

Quan talked about this being "the American dream" and even said hi to his 84-year-old mum back home, "Mum, I just won an Oscar!".

He was sobbing, presenter Ariana DeBose was sobbing, and basically everyone watching was too. We are so happy for you, Ke Huy Quan!

Jamie Lee Curtis

The 64-year-old actress adhered to the tone set by her Everything Everywhere All At Once co-star and brought us to tears once again.

Curtis won Best Supporting Actress and acknowledged that it was a collective effort, saying that she was "hundreds of people" standing on that stage and thanking her movie dream team, her family, and other important people in her life.

She finished off by tearing up when remembering that her parents got Oscar noms in different categories too.

Aww, Jamie, what a way to make your folks proud and carry on the family tradition!

Brendan Fraser

The 54-year-old actor stole the limelight with his deeply moving acceptance speech when he won Best Actor for his role in The Whale. His life story is an example to all – anything is possible.

After disappearing from the public eye for years, Fraser had made a comeback – and a big one at that. In his speech, he recognized his cast mates' huge impact and thanked everyone involved, stating, "I just want to say thank you for this acknowledgment because it couldn't be done without my cast."

It feels so good to see you in tears of joy for a change, Brendan!
