Jennifer Bransford as Carly Corinthos
Jennifer Bransford has been cast for Carly's part after the departure of Tamara Braun.
Unfortunately, the actress suffered greatly from the fans of the show hating the recast to the point where she had to be removed only 5 months after joining the show.
"Jennifer's casting in the role of Carly did not work out. She is a consummate actress and she's good at what she does. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors," General Hospital's spokesperson at the time commented on the situation.
Cameron Mathison as Drew Mathison
Many people believe the cause of negativity toward this recast lies deeper than in a simple change of actor.
The story of Drew Mathison has been heavily affected by lazy writing, hence why he doesn't have a lot of fans among General Hospital viewers anymore.
Who wants to see a character, whose main purpose is being a love interest?
Fans on Reddit have to agree, with user Questn4Lyfe expressing their opinion on Mathison as follows:
"Cameron was horribly cast for this role. I think Frank and GH wanted to bag him as a romantic interest for Laura Wright (Carly) and figured they could resurrect Drew for this".
Charles Shaughnessy as Victor Cassadine
There's a bit less drama surrounding Shaughnessy's addition to the show. However, his Victor just didn't hit the spot for many.
Known and loved for portraying so many good guys, Charles could not replicate the essence of Victor, despite his acting talent.
