Friends gave us a lot of great moments to remember. But one character wasn't receiving enough credit all along.

There are many episodes in the show that have become iconic over the years. True fans still obsess over them and analyze them over and over again.

For example, the episode of Friends when Phoebe agreed to be a surrogate and carry her brother and his wife's children.

That is something only a deeply caring person could do.

Everyone also remembers how Ross helped his ex-wife Carol to go through with her wedding, when things seemed to have fallen apart between her and her partner Susan.

And he even walked Carol down the aisle, because her parents didn't approve of the wedding. We have to admit, that was really big of him.

But fans are sure that there are so many more moments like that in the series that never got enough credit. We just didn't seem to notice them.

For example, let's take Joey. The main thing one might remember about him is that "Joey doesn't share food!".

But have you ever noticed the little acts of pure kindness he has shown throughout all 10 seasons?

Like when he decided to give up "his share" of meat (his favorite part of a sandwich) when Phoebe accidentally stopped being a vegetarian during her pregnancy.

Joey's big heart also helped Monica several times. Once it was in a moment of her love life crisis. Remember the time Monica was so desperate to have a child that she wanted to go to the sperm bank for that?

Joey was the one who talked her out of it, just by telling her about the marriage life he was always picturing for her. If that's not true friendship, we don't know what is…

But there is another Joey and Monica scene that absolutely broke fan's hearts.

"I love the engagement scene for obvious reasons, but that little smile, to me, erases any suggestion that Joey is at core a superficial or selfish person.

Of course he is dopey sometimes -- he is a sitcom character leaning into that trope! But in moments where it counts, I feel like Joey really tries to support his friends, and I love that," Reddit user Dowager-queen-beagle shared.

So it turned out to be that the character that is commonly suggested to be the most self-centered one is actually a really caring friend, who is always there for his closest one.

As long as they don't touch his food, of course…
