3 Classic 'Fantastic Four' Villains That Might Appear In Upcoming Movie
'Fantastic Four' film is finally in the works with John Krasinski playing the Mister Fantastic and Bryce Dallas Howard rumored to direct. Now is a great time to try to guess who will be the film's main villain.
The Fantastic Four were introduced in 1961 and quickly became one of Marvel's favorite superhero teams, with thousands of comic books published about them over the past 60 years. The team, consisting of Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and the Creature, has stood up to many powerful villains, traveling all over the planet and even beyond, so the possible list of potential antagonists is quite extensive.
So, without further ado, here are 3 possible Marvel characters that would be perfect as antagonists in the upcoming film.
Super Skrull
One of the film's most logical options for an antagonist would be this powerful Skrull. With the recent discovery that the Skrulls are already present in the MCU, Feige and Co. could use 'Fantastic Four' to further develop this storyline, especially given the team's longstanding opposition to green-skinned alien invaders in the original comics.
The Super Skrull was conceived as Fantastic Four's greatest threat yet, with this particular alien combining the powers of all members of the team. He can become invisible, his skin is almost impenetrable, he can increase the length of his arms and legs, and he can throw deadly fireballs. With the right script and Marvel's always flawless CGI, a battle between Super Skrull and the Fantastic Four would sure become a great spectacle.
Galactus
The Eater of the Worlds is long considered to be one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel comic universe, yet he is still absent from the MCU. Upcoming Krasinski-led film will be a great opportunity to introduce this powerful space deity capable of destroying the whole planets in a matter of seconds.
Galactus is also responsible for creating a number of superheroes and supervillains, including the Silver Surfer, Terrax, Nova, and many others. If Marvel Studios decides to make him the main villain of the film, they could introduce all of these popular characters into the MCU! Perhaps the mighty Galactus could even become the main villain of the entire upcoming Phase 5. He definitely has the power to back that title.
Doctor Doom
The Fantastic Four's greatest enemy is considered one of the best comic book villains of all time. The story of Latveria's ruler succumbing to his inner demons is a first-rate master class in drama in the original Marvel comics, so the decision to make him a villain in a future film would be a big win for the MCU, desperate for the next big villain to appear.
The only problem with this possible solution is that Doom is too big a character to be cast as a one-time villain. He has to play a role similar to that of Thanos, so maybe we'll have to wait to actually see Doctor Doom on a big screen until the MCU's Phase 5.
