3 Characters Proving Lisa Isn’t the Smartest One in The Simpsons

Nobody likes a know-it-all, right? Especially when it’s a little girl that keeps nagging you about all the stuff you so want to skip and move on with your life. The ultimate Mary Sue of The Simpsons is Lisa Simpson, the 8 year old daughter of the family.

Lisa’s extraordinary intelligence was made the central story in many episodes in the existing 35 seasons of the series, but sometimes it was made obvious that the girl is not a genius, and there are actually a lot more intelligent and educated people there.

And while it's still important to remember that we're talking about an elementary school girl, there are a few characters worth mentioning here, as they might be just a little bit smarter than our little miss-know-it-all.

Martin Prince

We'll start with a fair comparison, because Martin is also in elementary school, and it's been mentioned many times throughout the series that he has superior intelligence compared to everyone else in the school. He has won many science fairs, leaving Lisa far behind, and he even became the school president (all fair and square).

Unlike Lisa, Martin never had a storyline that suggested he might actually be less smart than the show implied or than he thought.

Professor Fink

Professor Fink is without doubt one of the smartest characters in the entire The Simpsons universe. He is a nerdy scientist and a professor, who is incredibly intelligent and creative. Frink constantly comes up with crazy inventions to improve Springfield, but usually ends up making things worse.

While it may seem a little unfair to compare a professor and a second grade girl, we still think that in this context it’s only natural.
