Bring it on, Netflix!

It's safe to say that Bridgerton is one of the most popular Netflix franchises today. Although Season 3 hasn't aired yet and doesn't even have a release date to calm down the fans, the upcoming installment is already predicted to be just as great as the previous ones.

Of course, the spring release of the first Bridgerton spin-off, Queen Charlotte, only added to the show's popularity. While some people were a bit skeptical about the prequel, which tells the story of young Charlotte and her romance with King George, the new show has actually exceeded the expectations of both loyal fans and general audiences.

After the success of Queen Charlotte, it is only a matter of time before Netflix decides to take the working formula and repeat it with a different premise.

While the discussions about how the Bridgerton universe should evolve are at their peak, fans over on Reddit have suggested three brilliant ideas that Shondaland should definitely consider for the next spin-off.

Christmas Specials

Although it wouldn't technically be a spin-off, since the main characters would be the same as in a main series, a holiday special episode released between seasons would add a nice touch to the show.

Holiday specials often become fan-favorite episodes, and the Bridgerton fandom would certainly appreciate some Christmas-themed content featuring the same beloved cast.

Blast From The Past

Redditors have come up with another excellent idea for a prequel — a spin-off focusing on the debut year of Mary Sharma, Portia Featherington, and Lady Cowper. Considering how different their lives turned out to be, it would be very interesting to follow the ladies and see how their worldviews and families have influenced their decisions.

Also, just because Shonda Rhimes loves to throw in a change here and there, Violet Bridgerton could've been added to the colorful mix.

The Smythe-Smiths

This idea obviously comes from the readers of Julia Quinn's original books. While the Smythe-Smith sisters technically coexist in the same universe as the Bridgertons, their stories don't overlap too much, and there are four completely separate novels on which the potential spin-off would be based.

The only problem is that fans of Bridgerton would need to be introduced to the new characters, but Shonda Rhimes would surely find a way to make this idea work.
