3 Best Protagonists From Star Wars Universe, Ranked By Fans
It has been more than four decades since the first Star Wars story was told, when it was known simply as A New Hope.
The world of George Lucas continues to grow and expand with new feature films, TV series, cartoons, and even video games. But who is the fan favorite of all the heroes in A Galaxy Far, Far Away?
Throughout the franchise, Ben is the iconic and beloved Jedi. He is the wise and experienced Master who trained both Skywalkers. Obi-Wan is known for his calm and collected demeanor and unwavering commitment to the Order.
Kenobi's sacrifice in A New Hope, where he allowed Darth Vader to strike him down, is considered one of the most memorable moments in the Star Wars universe.
And while the latest show to feature the legendary character may not have turned out the way fans had hoped, there were a few scenes that made viewers feel even more connected to Ben than before.
2. Anakin Skywalker
Though he is the future Sith, Anakin is also the beloved protagonist of George Lucas' prequels. Skywalker is a talented warrior with incredible potential, but he is also a deeply flawed human being. Anakin struggles with his emotions, often giving in to anger and fear.
But for all his rage, Skywalker's heart is warmed by his love for Padme, which will be the defining moment of his transformation into an iconic villain.
And while the prequels were once controversial, fans now not only enjoy Lucas' films, but owe much to Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin.
1. Luke Skywalker
Vader's son is the quintessential protagonist of the Star Wars franchise. He was just a boy from Tatooine who rose to become a Knight and saved the galaxy from the evil Empire.
Fans fell in love with Luke's determination, bravery, and selflessness. He is a relatable character who overcomes his fears and doubts to become a hero. His journey in the original trilogy, from a wide-eyed young farmer to a powerful Jedi, is still breathtaking.
Fans have also mentioned Cassian Andor, Ashoka Tano, or even Omega from the animated series Bad Batch. But so far, none of these protagonists have managed to replace the famous characters from the original and prequel trilogies.
Perhaps future generations will choose different heroes, but for now, George Lucas' creations still hold a special place in our hearts.
