“I couldn't help but wonder…”

Back in 1998, on June 6, the world saw the first episode of HBO’s romantic dramedy show that became one of the most rewatched series ever made. We bet you all have seen at least one episode of Sex and the City and know some of its legendary scenes.

Here are 6 cultish moments that are known by heart by every SATC fan.

1. S03, E17 — Carrie Meets Natasha

First is the scene when Carrie decides to clear herself of bad karma after the affair with Big by a chat with Natasha, Big’s ex-wife, who gives her a good reaming-out. “Not only have you ruined my marriage, you’ve ruined my lunch,” she says. Mic drop, indeed.

2. S03, E18 — Carrie and Miranda’s Thrifting

While shopping at a thrift store, Miranda and Carrie have an argument over Big, who invites the latter to get together and just “talk.” It is an extremely important moment that shows that being best friends sometimes means telling the bitter truth.

3. S04, E04 — Miranda and the Cake

Next comes one of the most GIF-able moments in TV show history, as here we see Miranda trying to substitute chocolate for sex that results in the addiction. She even eats leftover cake out of the trash can, licking her fingers (we were all there).

4. S04, E11 — Samantha and the Bag

Samantha loves clothes and accessories even more than sex, so she is quick to exploit her encounter with Lucy Liu as a reason to use the actress’ identity to buy a $4000 Birkin bag. However, she is caught red-handed, and it’s time to say goodbye to the bag.

5. S06, E18 — “I’m So Bored I Could Die”

It is considered the most jaw-dropping moment of the show, yet quite a ridiculous one. When Carrie’s ex-friend Lexi causes a scandal at a party, she says, “I’m so bored I could die.” And she actually does, as she falls out of a skyscraper while smoking a cigarette.

6. S06, E19 — Samantha’s Wig

Last comes the scene when we were all proud of Samantha, who accepts her disease and gives an empowering speech at a breast cancer benefit. It is the very moment when she takes off her wig when we realize she’s no longer the reckless Samantha she was.
