Even though the eponymous show ended almost five years ago, "Game of Thrones" is still considered to be one of the best fantasy book series ever, read and reread by millions of people every year.

However, some people refuse to read George R.R. Martin's books, preferring to stick to the TV version, and it looks like some of the actors from the show itself share that sentiment!

Yes, it looks like longtime "Game of Thrones " favorites like Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Richard Madden, and Peter Dinklage have never really read the books their characters come from, which may sound a bit surprising considering how well they have managed to bring Martin's characters to life.

But while some fans will be quick to accuse the actors of not really trying to research the heroes they play, it's important to remember that they are all busy, in-demand performers who simply don't have the time to sit down and read five massive books.

Moreover, they have all done a great job portraying the heroes and villains of Westeros without reading the source material, which means that their reputations as actors will continue to be impeccable, and Martin purists should try to understand that some of the people associated with the HBO production treated their time on "Game of Thrones" as simply a job.
