Chicago Fire is lit — but some episodes…extinguished fans’ love for the show.

10. Funny What Things Remind Us (S9E4) — 7.8/10

In this past-fueled episode, Chief Boden and Kelly Severide join forces on a special HQ assignment to unravel the mystery of a man found in a condemned house, and the two reminisce about the good old days as they go. Brett and Casey quickly find new partners after calling a timeout on their relationship, because…why not?

9. Change of Plans (S11E21) — 7.7/10

As the name of the episode suggests, no one’s plans go, well, according to plan. Carver’s past endeavors catch up to him as apparently, he was arrested; now, the DA wants to give him a career-ending sentence, and Kidd and Boden try to save their colleague. Brett struggles with the baby she saved as she wants to adopt it.

8. Take a Shot at the King (S11E19) — 7.7/10

As a wise man once said, putting a leash on a dog after it is crowned is not easy. In this episode, the Firehouse 51 crew deals with a dangerous chemical fire linked to a high-profile politician. Extinguishing the fire is not enough as now, the firefighters seek to also extinguish the man’s career and put him behind bars for good.

7. How Does It End? (S11E12) — 7.7/10

This question often bothers romantic couples, and Stella and Kelly are no exception. Severide makes a tough call in the field, and Kidd is worried sick about him; their feelings start becoming a problem, and one of them might need to ask for a transfer. Thanks to Stella and Severide’s quarrel, Track and Squad teams also clash.

6. Smash Therapy (S9E3) — 7.7/10

Veteran firefighters are the heart and soul of Firehouse 51, but their slips are not easily forgiven due to their experience. When the aerial ladder controls malfunction and Casey almost dies, everyone is quick to blame Mouch which leads him down the dangerous self-doubt path as he crucifies himself over his alleged mistake.

5. All-Out Mystery (S11E6) — 7.6/10

Kelly Severide’s always been brilliant in arson investigations, and in this episode, he’s at it again. During a jewelry store fire call, Severide and Kidd realize that the fire wasn’t an accident as all the valuables are missing. The power couple decides to uncover the truth which leads them down the spiraling path of mysteries.

4. Pilot (S1E1) — 7.6/10

Believe it or not, the pilot episode of Chicago Fire is also one of the show’s worst-rated episodes! It seems like the series was off to a rocky start but thankfully, it took off. The pilot episode introduces the main characters and the conflict between Casey and Severide who blame each other for their colleague’s recent death.

3. The Missing Piece (S10E15) — 7.6/10

There are a couple of missing pieces in this episode, but both of them are tied to Kelly Severide. First, Seagar gets paired with Severide once again, completing the supposed love triangle with Kidd; second, there’s another arson investigation the two must work on together, but this time around, someone’s targeting the investigators.

2. Hold on Tight (S11E1) — 7.6/10

In the aftermath of the S10’s finale, we learn that Severide and Kidd survived their honeymoon ambush just fine despite Campbell’s best attempts. As Stella climbs the ranks higher, there’s a new recruit joining her crew, and apparently, they already know each other. Hold on tight, because Stella Kidd seemingly hates the guy’s guts.

1. Haunted House (S11E5) — 7.4/10

This episode is all about fun as Chief Boden decides to create an open Halloween house to keep the local kids from getting into trouble during the holiday. Unfortunately, many firefighters don’t take his and Brett’s efforts seriously, but in the end, everything works out — and while we were delighted to see more of Boden’s gleeful side, Haunted House proves to be the worst-rated Chicago Fire episode ever.
