We made it our goal to create this list from a wide variety of anime, without one feeling like the other, picking the best examples of each genre and choosing projects that you most likely have never seen before.

Most of the shows on this list are fairly new, as we decided against including older shows, as they might seem a bit dated and could easily alienate fans who are just beginning their anime obsession.
However, the current anime landscape is so rich and diverse that older shows are not really missed. Anime is currently experiencing a true renaissance, as more and more people outside of Japan are beginning to take an interest in this unique genre of animation.
Check out the shows on this list, as they are certainly more worthy of your attention than the likes of "One Piece ".
