If European cinema borrows a significant portion of its plots from books, Asian cinema often draws inspiration from manga, manhwa, and webtoons.
Manga is traditionally considered a Japanese title, manhwa is a Korean one, and webtoon was originally a Korean platform for artists to publish their work, but has come to refer to any work published online.
