10 Most Anticipated TV Shows Coming in March 2024 (& Where to Stream Them)
March has prepared many pleasant surprises for the viewers.
What series will we be watching in March? In this list, we highlight the most anticipated releases of the month. Ahead is a political satire with Kate Winslet, a sequel to Guy Ritchie 's The Gentlemen and the main sci-fi show of 2024.
1. The Gentlemen
Release Date: March 7 | Streaming Platform: Netflix
The Gentlemen is a spin-off of Guy Ritchie's crime hit of the same name. The series features new characters whose lives intersect with those of the original. Eddie has inherited from his father a huge land holding and a marijuana farm that is part of the drug empire of Mickey Pearson (played by Matthew McConaughey in the movie).
As Eddie figures out how to run his father's business, local criminal authorities are dreaming of taking over the profitable farm.
The show has all the potential to be Netflix's next big hit.
2. The Regime
Release Date: March 3 | Streaming Platform: Max
Kate Winslet is returning to TV: the Mare of Easttown star will star in another HBO mini-series from Succession writer Will Tracy.
The Regime will tell the story of the chancellor of a fictional European country who is doing everything in her power to maintain her position and the authoritarian regime. When a conspiracy brews behind the scenes of the government, the tyrant turns to a military man for help.
3. Palm Royale
Release Date: March 20 | Streaming Platform: Apple TV+
In 1969, Maxine tries her best to break into the high society of Palm Royale – she manipulates people, deceives, and does many other immoral things in order to be accepted by the local socialites.
Palm Royale continues the TV trend for the 1960s. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Lessons in Chemistry, Julia, and Funny Woman all showed how a patriarchal society placed glass ceilings on talented women.
4. Extraordinary, Season 2
Release Date: March 6 | Streaming Platform: Hulu
The last couple of years have been considered a crisis year for superheroics, but we're only talking about the big projects. It's a different story for shows that poke fun at and deconstruct the genre, like The Boys and Generation V.
Extraordinary is a comedy that proves that stories about superpowers can still be original. The British series is dedicated to a world in which almost everyone develops a superpower as they grow up: sometimes useful, sometimes absurd. 25-year-old Jen still doesn't know what her superpower is.
5. 3 Body Problem
Release Date: March 21 | Streaming Platform: Netflix
David Benioff and D. B. Weiss have finally emerged from the creative hibernation the duo went into after the disastrous ending of Game of Thrones. They teamed up to bring Liu Cixin's hard sci-fi bestseller, which has been adapted into several TV series in China.
3 Body Problem will tell the story of a secret invasion of alien forces on Earth. If audiences like the series, Netflix is likely to order a continuation – Cixin's second and third novels, set in the distant future.
6. Renegade Nell
Release Date: March 29 | Streaming Platform: Disney+
The series follows a woman named Nell, falsely accused of murder, who hides in the woods and robs wagons in the English countryside in the mid-19th century. One day, a forest spirit (Nick Mohammed from Ted Lasso ) comes to the criminal and predicts a great future for her.
It's hard to say what to expect from the new series, but judging by the trailer, it doesn't look like your typical Disney children's show.
7. Apples Never Fall
Release Date: March 14 | Streaming Platform: Peacock
A wave of TV shows based on best-selling mystery novels featuring Hollywood A-listers began with Big Little Lies. In addition to being another work in this genre, Apples Never Fall is another Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty adaptation.
The miniseries follows a married couple, Stan and Joy, who are preparing to retire after selling their tennis academy. When Joy suddenly disappears and suspicion falls on her husband, the couple's four children – all suffering from psychological trauma as a result of competing for their parents' attention – fight among themselves.
8. We Were the Lucky Ones
Release Date: March 28 | Streaming Platform: Hulu
It is an adaptation of the life-affirming historical novel of the same name, written by Georgia Hunter based on her family's incredible story.
In 1939, the Polish Jews family of Kurc had different attitudes toward the outbreak of war: some rushed to flee the country, others waited until the last moment for a miracle, only to end up in concentration camps. The story begins in a small town, but spans three generations of the family around the world.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are producing and Logan Lerman and Joey King are starring in this adaptation of the bestselling book.
9. Manhunt
Release Date: March 15 | Streaming Platform: Apple TV+
The miniseries is an adaptation of James L. Swanson's nonfiction bestseller and literary investigation of the 12-day search for Abraham Lincoln's assassin.
The series will tell the story of how Edwin Stanton, a friend of the assassinated president and US Secretary of War, searched the country for John Wilkes Booth. The main problem of the pursuit is the southern states – the Confederates, who lost the Civil War, want to seize power in the country after the death of Lincoln.
10. X-Men '97
Release Date: March 20 | Streaming Platform: Disney+
Turns out, eternal reboots and remakes are not necessarily bad. At least that is what fans of the 1992 X-Men animated series, which was unexpectedly brought back to life by Disney, think.
For many, it was the show of the '90s that became the canonical story about the universe of mutants. X-Men '97 is a direct sequel that will tell what happened after the finale of the original animated series.
