10 Iconic TV Shows That Completely Botched The Finale
The perception of the season finale is always a subjective thing.
Still, we collected the most hated endings in history.
10. Scrubs
The finale episode of Scrubs doesn't give us JD's perfect ending.
As we see him walking down the hall, he doesn't think about the future that is ahead of him, everything he imagines is the faces of his friends and colleagues.
This scene leaves the viewers not with the bittersweet taste that they expected, but with a hole in a chest.
9. Pretty Little Liars
The show had great potential as a murder mystery but as we came closer to the finale it just didn't feel like that anymore. The fans felt misled when it was revealed that "A" was Spencer's evil British twin sister, Alex Drake.
It was not the best way to wrap up a seven-year-old show by introducing a completely new character at the end of the season whom the audience has no sympathy for.
8. Skins (UK)
When we think that nothing could make us much angrier than the season 4 finale, we get season 7.
Seeing promising and so familiar names of our favorite characters make us hope that they finally get their happy ending, but instead, we get more heartbreak.
Effy is sent to prison, Cassie has a stalker, and Cook still can't get out of the drugs and violence. The last hope is destroyed.
7. Dexter
You can't simply make one of the smartest serial killers drive his boat into the storm to, possibly, kill himself and expect the audience to be satisfied with such an ending.
Well, yeah, we know that the show's post-credits sequence reveals that Dexter is alive and works as a logger, but weren't you mad for a second too?
6. Gossip Girl
If you go back to the beginning of the show knowing that Dan is the gossip girl, the teen drama will appear in a different light — now it's the show about a weird stalker and his obsession with a girl.
Seems like we found the roots of Joe Goldberg.
5. Sherlock
We have to admit that the mind-blowing games that Sherlock's missing sibling, Eurus Holmes, prepared for him in the last episode of season 4 were brilliant, but the finale…
Or maybe it's just the fact that we won't see our favorite characters again that makes us hate the ending more.
4. Lost
The ending was as complicated as the show itself and divided the fans into two groups.
Lost's finale reviewed that all our favorite characters had been already dead and everything we saw happening with them was nothing but the afterlife.
In this battle, we take a side of those who consider a season finale (alongside the last season itself) something that showrunners seem to come up with somewhere halfway through the season.
So much time has gone by, but this one still hurts like…Okay, so simply — Barney and Robin, Ted and Tracy. Period.
2. Supernatural
We understand that after 15 years of filming the ideas might run their course, but we are talking about a damn finale! After everything the Winchesters went through they both deserved their happy ending.
Dean deserved to end up with his own family as he always dreamed and not on a piece of rebar.
After giving us one of the most breathtaking TV series, show runners simply took away what they gave after delivering one of the most disappointing endings in history.
For 6 seasons they've been raising Daenerys Targaryen from a young intimidated girl into a strong independent ruler just to kill her off at the end…
The bar which once was set so high just fell off and crashed, and so did our hopes.
