Until the big reveal of the monster, the above-mentioned movies looked like true horror masterpieces, as both the directors and the actors did a good job of building up the atmosphere of dread and reassuring the audience that the monster they were about to introduce would look absolutely terrifying.
Unfortunately, the monsters in question turned out to be quite silly, as not enough of the production budget was spent on CGI. Seeing these supposedly scary villains made fans laugh out loud, completely ruining the movies' chances of scaring anyone.
