10 Easter Eggs in Crash Landing on You That Only True Fans Noticed
Watching a TV show is half the fun. Finding Easter Eggs is the real game.
Crash Landing on You is one of the most incredible K-dramas we have seen so far, and Hyun Bin delivers a brilliant performance as the male lead. But beyond the amazing story of love and survival, there are some fun and unexpected easter eggs.
Eagle-eyed fans have spotted these 10, did you catch them all?
1. The Soccer Ball
Hyun Bin also appeared in the 2010-2011 K-drama Secret Garden. And we see him use his foot to stop a soccer ball, using the exact same move as when his character is in the North Korean hotel in Crash Landing on You. Coincidence or deliberate?
2. The Computer Game
In 2018-2019's Memories of the Alhambra, Bin's character plays a computer game. In Crash Landing on You, his character is playing the same game, with the same music.
3. The Piano
Bin's character is playing the piano in Crash Landing on You, just like in 2005's My Lovely Sam-Soon.
4. The TV Show
The next time you watch Crash Landing on You, pay close attention to the hospital scene. When Bin's character flips through the TV channels, you will see a brief glimpse of The World That They Live In, in which he appeared in 2008.
5. Chopin
In Crash Landing on You, we learn that Chopin is Bin's character's favorite composer. But did you know that Chopin is referenced in not one, but two other TV shows in which Bin has appeared? Not only is it mentioned in Secret Garden, but also in 2015's Hyde, Jekyll, Me.
6. Feet
Everyone remembers the touching scene where Bin's character puts shoes on his love interest's feet. But what some may have missed is that he also put shoes on someone in A Millionaire's First Love in 2006 and in The Snow Queen in 2006-2007, he washed a character's feet.
7. Snow
Speaking of The Snow Queen, the first snow was also an important part of the plot in Crash Landing on You. But the first snow was also crucial in A Millionaire's First Love. This creates almost double Easter eggs for these works of Bin's.
8. Surprise Food
One of the most adorable scenes in Crash Landing on You is when Bin's character is unexpectedly fed by having food placed directly in his mouth. But did you know that this also happened to his characters in Secret Garden and The Snow Queen?
9. Mental Illness
In Crash Landing on You, Bin's character at one point asks his love interest if she is manic-depressive. Which is another term for Bipolar Disorder. In Hyde, Jekyll, Me, Bin's character is asked the same question. Bin also plays a character who suffers from mental illness in 2008's I Am Happy.
10. A Man’s Watch
Of course, no one missed the significant plot device of a Chopard watch in Crash Landing on You, but did anyone notice that it was also used in a 2010 movie starring Bin called Late Autumn? Well, now you know!
