One of CBS's most watched shows, Young Sheldon, has ended after seven years on the air. And it went out on a high ratings note. The final episode drew 8.95 million viewers to the small screen on its premiere night, the show's best rating in four years.
The announcement of the spin-off was met with caution by many viewers. But what initially felt like a manipulation of fans' emotions ended up being one of the most comforting comedies in recent years.

1. A Therapist, A Comic Book, and a Breakfast Sausage – Season 1 Episode 4
This is the episode in which one of Sheldon's main passions is born – his love of comic books. At breakfast, Sheldon chokes on sausage and then refuses to eat. His parents decide to take him to see a psychiatrist. When they arrive at the clinic, the parents leave Sheldon in the waiting room to talk to the doctor privately.
The boy sees the comics – he reads the X-Men and then decides to go to the comic book store to buy the next book. And it's comics that help him with his fear of eating.
2. An 8-Bit Princess, and a Flat Tire Genius – Season 2 Episode 8
One of the most touching episodes that brings Sheldon and Meemaw closer together. They start playing Adeera together on an 8-bit console. Connie promises Sheldon not to play without him, but breaks her promise the same night and sits down to complete the levels alone.
Waking up in a cold sweat, Sheldon senses something is wrong and calls Meemaw, accusing her of breaking her promise. As a result, Connie has to pick up the boy from class early to finish the game together.
3. A Loaf of Bread and a Grand Old Flag – Season 2 Episode 16
Sheldon discovers that the taste of his favorite bread has changed, which turns out to be due to cheaper production. He starts a petition and goes on television to explain that the company does not have the right to change production.
Sheldon's words do not get the reaction he expected, and those around him begin to think that the boy believes that Texas needs a communist form of government, which is why the entire town turns away from the Coopers.
4. A Swedish Science Thing and the Equation for Toast – Season 2 Episode 22
The episode that deservedly became a fan favorite – we saw the main stars of TBBT as children. In order to hear the winner of the Physics Nobel Prize announced on the radio, Sheldon throws a party. But the live broadcast is on Swedish time, which means he has to get up at five in the morning.
The boy organizes snacks and drinks, but no one comes – he listens to the speech all alone and cries. At the end of the episode, we see his future best friend Leonard listening to the same broadcast, Penny and Bernadette sleeping soundly, Raj studying astronomy, Howard playing video games, and Amy reading her favorite novels.
All this happens to the song Someday We'll Be Together by The Supremes. And though Sheldon is lonely now, he will soon meet people who share his hobbies and will never make him feel alone again.
5. Hobbitses, Physicses and a Ball With Zip – Season 3 Episode 4
In this episode, Sheldon is introduced to The Lord of the Rings while his family begs that he take a break from science. Trying to find a new hobby, he tries sports, but is only really interested in the incredible worlds of Tolkien. A simple hobby becomes an obsession that will last into adulthood.
In TBBT, fans will see that Sheldon's love of fictional universes goes far beyond The LoTR – his bedroom will feature a bust of Legolas and a figurine of Commander Cody from Star Wars, as well as the helmet of Master Chief from Halo.
In this episode, viewers also saw the interaction between Missy and George Sr. The girl begs her father to teach her how to play ball to impress her crush. During the game, father and daughter become very close and it becomes one of the cutest moments of the season.
6. A Secret Letter and a Lowly Disc of Processed Meat – Season 3 Episode 21
The California Institute of Technology sends the Cooper family a letter inviting Sheldon. Mary hides it from her son, afraid to let him go far from home. Sheldon discovers the letter when he decides to make breakfast himself. The sausage rolls are under the refrigerator – he grabs a flashlight from the drawer and discovers the invitation.
The father convinces his wife to compromise. To do so, he and his son make a video of the teachers convincing Mary to let Sheldon go to the uni.
7. Graduation – Season 4 Episode 1
In this episode, Sheldon prepares for his school graduation. He has to give a speech in front of the entire school, and despite his outward confidence, the boy doubts his abilities and is very worried about the future.
As a result, Missy inspires her brother, who dedicates his speech to her. The most heartwarming moment was Jim Parsons' voiceover noting that his baby is called Leonard after his best friend.
8. A Pink Cadillac and a Glorious Tribal Dance – Season 5 Episode 12
TBBT once told the world how cool it was to be a real geek. And Sheldon is in for a very exciting event. He attends Comic Con for the first time in his life and meets the geek community – he has an argument about Star Trek on a bus full of fans of this universe.
After many years of social isolation and society's rejection of Sheldon's hobbies, the young man finally finds like-minded people.
9. A Solo Peanut, a Social Butterfly and the Truth – Season 5 Episode 17
In the centennial episode, the writers decided to add drama and depth, temporarily moving away from all the comedy. Sheldon is approached by his old friend Paige, who is also a gifted child. She confesses to him about her failed student life – the girl feels like an outcast because she is too young.
George's girlfriend Mandy leaves him after discovering that he lied about his age and then admits that she is pregnant.
10. Funeral/Memoir – Season 7 Episode 13/Episode 14
In the final episode, we experience an exciting journey filled with emotional moments as the series dives into Sheldon's past, present and future.
The final episode brilliantly showcases the show's greatest strength: the Cooper family. The portrayal of George's death and following funeral exemplifies the show's masterful blend of drama and comedy, which has captivated loyal fans for seven seasons.
