BBC's smash hit 'Sherlock' launched Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman into hyper-stardom, accumulating millions of fans through its four-season run. It looks like series co-creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gattis are ready to do another season, but the big question is whether the stars will agree to reprise their roles.

While talking to Radio Times, Steven Moffat expressed his willingness to make another season, saying that "I'd do Sherlock again tomorrow, why ask me?" People to ask are, of course, Cumberbatch and Freeman, keeping their schedules pretty busy.

Moreover, even if they had some spare time to shoot an episode or two, there's always a question of money. Here's how Moffat puts it:

"They were very loyal to [Sherlock] over a very long while when it was out, when it definitely became their lowest paying job".

This is great news for 'Sherlock' fans, but not everyone is ready to start hoping for the next installment just yet. Some Reddit users expressed their doubts over Season 5 coming anytime soon. Sosumi_rogue writes that "With Dr. Strange 2 and Black Panther 2 (Martin Freeman will probably be in that) set to be released in the next year or 2, it would not be possible to have Sherlock tossed in there as well. As much as fans would love to see it, I very much doubt there is another season coming". Looks like most of the fans agree with that statement.

However, there is always a possibility of creating a movie, or a special episode, instead of a whole season. FaMeSp3aR expressed the fandom's hope for it to happen:

"At the very least another special episode, squeezed into their busy collective schedules and released one Christmas time would be awesome on its own!"

For now, we just have to wait.
